           Dr. John Roberts has served as organist at St. John's since 1973, providing
              beautiful music on the mighty Wicks pipe organ.

John grew up in West Virginia.  As a small child he began playing the pipe organ
   in the church where his father was pastor.

His education in organ performance took place at Maryville College in Tennessee
   and he is a member of the Toledo Chapter of the American Guild of Organists.

John composed an organ prelude for St. John's sesquicentennial celebration
   in 1993,  which featured ringing of the historic bell in St. John's bell tower.

He also composed a choir anthem which blended voices of the adult choir
   with those of the children's choir.

John serves as manager of a workshop in Toledo which provides employment
   and training for adults with mental retardation.

John and his wife, Betsy, St. John's choir director, live in Bowling Green.
   They have two adult children; Elizabeth and Joel.
